RIP: ME

A self-paced creative writing workshop to ring the death knell, write an obituary full of self-love AND self-burns, and bequeath 2024 to your closest living relative (you).

That’s right. 2023 you is kicking the bucket, and their last will and testament is being read. So it’s time to take all the goodies, and let everything that sucks rot in the ground with them.

(Respectfully.)

A macabre masterclass to put "new year/new me" ✨ to shame.

Your feed is already full of words of the year and new year’s goals and the best planner to make you the best you in 2024 and your head is probably trying to still wrap around the fact that it’s December? (When? How? Where? I miss Halloween.)

And you’re spinning a million plates, some of them labeled “wow I don’t ever want to look back at this year”, some declaring “yassss bitch you did it!!!!” and some like “hey you dumbass stop looking at the plates or you’ll drop everything we have shit to do.”

The end of the year is a juggling act with a thousand and 1 spinning plates and every time you turn around someone is wondering what kind of plates you’re going to pick up in 2024.

It’s not that you don’t want a cool, shiny, happy, grateful, [all the good positive adjectives] 2024- you know that things don’t shift just because you have the right ratio of vision to board.

RIP: ME is not a “pick a cute word off a list and forget about it because it didn’t really mean anything to me actually” or a “write your intentions this exact way or the ghouls and goblins of the manifestation police will come and eat your eyelashes”

It’s an ode to everything you loved (and hated) about this year’s version of yourself.

Another notebook with 'Goals' written on the cover in cursive? I'd Rather Die.

RIP: ME is the rite for you if...

🫶 You have a VISION of how to honor people (you).  You’ve even sent your BFF the spotify playlist for your funeral. Don’t wait until you’re trying to be a spooky ghosty to feel the ceremony; write the Eulogy your 2023 you needs to be thoroughly roasted, loved and honored.

🪦 You’re so, so, SO tired of writing out goals and dreams and desires like a ~girlboss~ You don’t need any more tips & tricks on how to set goals. You know them all. You need a damn purging of the year you just went through (even with your successes). After you write your Eulogy, you’ll create a Last Will & Testament to set your goals in a way that feels less… dead.

✍️ You loveeee to story tell. This isn’t a [born & died] obituary. The devil is in the details! You’ll get a checklist of details to collect before you start writing- things from where you live to how you’ll haunt people. Your story will be uniquely yours and you can get as fantastical as you wish- no one will ever fact check you.

☠️ Frankly- this year sucked. There were good pieces, but you’re not one to sugarcoat as if your life went ~perfectly~ this year. And you certainly don’t want to pretend that just because you cross your fingers 2024 will suddenly be “your year”. But you do believe in facing the morbid reality and continuing to move forward on your path.

“Dylan’s work is truly magical! I was feeling in a creative rut and exhausted from always having to ‘perform’ and execute with my writing. Dylan’s writing challenge cracked me open and let me reconnect with my inner teen in the best way. The prompts inside carve a path to your edgy creativity.”

“Dylan’s workshop was a much needed reminder for me that I’m inherently creative and poetic.

Dylan planned prompts with enough guidance that I had a direction to go, but they were loose enough that my own creativity could take a random turn here or there and be very much myself.

The biggest thing is that I finally used “the nice notebook” because this workshop made me feel worthy enough to use my nice things. That might seem small but it was huge for me to decide to use this notebook for things that weren’t already planned out.

Finding the poetry and letting it flow naturally, rather than trying to form it into a vision I tried to achieve, was a HUGE change from how I normally write. It was so freeing. I loved this entire experience.”

How It Works

Once you checkout using the BUY NOW button on this page, you’ll be sent an email with ALL of your included files (5 video walkthrough, Obit Outline Checklist PDF, Euphoric Eulogy Outline PDF, Better Bequeathal Outline PDF, and Rest In Reflections PDF).

If you’re a video person, the video walkthroughs are short videos set up to help you work through each section of RIP: ME. Watch the designated video for the specific Outline prior to completing it.

The Obit Outline Checklist is a 1 page checklist to walk you through pieces of information that will help you write your Eulogy more fluidly without having to stop and rack your brain for information mid creative flow. This may take around 15 minutes.

Following the Euphoric Eulogy Outline, you’ll write your own obituary. It is broken up into sections, pulls from the checklist you created previously, and leaves generous room for your own fantastical brandishing. This can take anywhere from 15 minutes up. However long you spend on it is up to you.

This is the section where you’ll create your Last Will & Testament. Similar to the Euphoric Eulogy Outline, it is broken up into sections, with generous room for you to embellish as needed. This can take anywhere from 15 minutes up.

Intended to be done after you have written everything, these are 5 reflection questions to respond to thoughts, feelings, etc that came up while you wrote.

All together, you might spend between 1-2 hours on this. You can do it all in one sitting or break it up in 15-30 minute increments over the course of several days.

Thank you for helping me reawaken my inner poet!!!

In total, this may take you anywhere from 1-2 hours if you do it all in one sitting. But you can also break that up into 15-30 minute sessions over the course of several days.

Absolutely! This is designed to use to close out 2023, like one might use New Year’s Resolutions, etc. But time is arbitrary and if you want to throw your funeral- I’m here to give you the outline for it.

No. The videos are very short (the longest one is 8 minutes). They can help give context and ideas to your writing process, but they are not required.

“The prompts really help me connect to my younger self and unearth memories that were in the corner of my mind. Definitely got me in the zone to express and connect without over-intellectualizing the process.

I love the reminders that I don’t need to make it so serious and deep!”
